A puppy factory can bring in up to 70,000 euros a year for a diligent mate, but the cost is minimal. ElsHelsing police estimate that the key players in the hidden puppy trade in Finnish portals and car parks are Estonians.

Last week, the Estonian Animal Welfare Association discovered the largest puppy factory in Treppoja to date: almost 40 dogs were squeezed into their droppings for a few square meters. The animals were kept by a woman in her 50s.
Three years ago, in March 2015, an unemployed 50-year-old man showed a 12-year-old boy in an apartment in Lääne-Viru County how he let dogs lick his genitals and then thwarted the child's anal sex.
Ten years ago in April, an Estonian scientist was arrested by the Finnish police at the University of Helsinki and received more than 20,000 ecstasy tablets.
Twenty-six years ago, a young married couple, Mati Reeben, who is considered to be highly talented, and her husband, biologist Jelena Arbatova, moved from Estonia to pursue a Finnish research career.
