Bobby Joe Blythe (c.1946) is a former marine, karate instructor and currently resides in Hanford, California.
He gained notoriety due to the self-posting of a number of incriminating videos he added to his YouTube channel bobbyjoeblythe007 on 1st April 2009. The video that initially attracted people's attention was named by Blythe "Jesus Taught Me" and shows one of his new black belt students, Willie J Dennis, assaulting an unidentified man who could clearly be heard stating several times that he did not want to fight, and, once the man had been beaten unconscious, stomping on his head/neck twice, before being dragged out of the dojo.
YouTube removed the video due to its extreme content but has since reappeared on various sites under a number of different names, some claiming that the victim was "mentally challenged" and that he died, although there is no evidence to confirm either hypothesis.
The claims that the victim was mentally challenged seem to have arisen from his reply to Blythe's statement "he has no master" to which the victim replied "My master is Jesus Christ". Blythe, clearly ridiculing the man's faith, then states "and he got promoted by Jesus Christ to 10th degree red belt".
The injuries sustained by the victim could definitely have been life threatening but it is not known whether or not he survived as yet the victim has not been traced alive and no body been located and identified. There has been much speculation as to whether comments posted by Blythe in text accompanying the "Jesus Saved Me" video indicated that the victim had died [1]
Blythe's narration suggests the video was shot on 13th December 1984 and is believed to have been filmed at his karate dojo in Dumfries, Virginia. [2]
As comments were added to YouTube during August 2009 Blythe realized the gravitas of the situation and removed his account. He has since gone into hiding while law enforcement agencies and a number of Internet groups[3][4] have started investigating the matter.
At least one, possibly more, people saved Blythe's other videos, some of which are highly incriminating, especially a number of videos of Blythe lecturing his black belt students regarding the behaviour that he expects of them as black belts. [5] and a video of the Today Program from the 1980s in which Blythe and his colleague Joel Kaplan introduce their black belt female bodyguards from their company Action Investigative Services [6] , who have all been trained by Blythe. One of the female bodyguards is referred to as Connie Jett (sp?) sheriff's wife, thus consolidating Blythe's claims that he was well connected with police officers. [7]
A retired police detective recalled that the victim was seen a few days after the incident limping but declined to pursue charges.[8]

Yleisesti ottaen ko.tapaus on yksi sairaimmista joita olen nähnyt, todellista urheiluhenkeä havaittavissa.
