SICKO TARGETED Double killer Yousef Palani ‘screamed for help’ after four lags ‘stormed cell’ as prison attack details revealed
SADISTIC killer Yousef Palani has suffered a vicious behind bars attack, we can reveal.
The gay-hate monster is serving life for the horrific murders of Aidan Moffitt, 42, and Michael Snee, 58 in Sligo in April 2022.
He was targeted by four inmates on Monday afternoon at Mountjoy Prison. Palani was in his cell on the jail’s B Base when the lags allegedly stormed in and repeatedly punched and kicked him in the body as he screamed for help. The inmates bolted from his cell when a prison officer responded to the attack. Palani, 23, received injuries to his lower back and the back of his neck.
Gardai in Mountjoy Station launched an investigation following the assault. Officers are now examining CCTV as they attempt to build a case against the suspects. Gardai don’t believe that any weapons were used. Detectives are currently trying to establish a motive for the beating.
Palani had previously been held in the C Base area of the Dublin prison. He was moved to B Base in an attempt to integrate him with other inmates. Palani has been held at Mountjoy since his conviction for the double murders.
He was previously held in protective custody over concerns for his safety. It’s understood he may now be moved to another prison following the assault. It’s not clear if Palani will make a complaint over the attack.
One source said: “It’s hard to think of a motive for this because he spends most of his time in prison reading.
“He keeps himself to himself and hasn’t caused any problems for the staff.”
Murder admissions
Palani admitted killing Aidan and Michael, who were both gay, telling cops he carried out the murders because homosexuality was against his Islamic religion. He also stabbed Anthony Burke in the eye, causing him to lose his sight.
Detectives also believed Palani had issues with his own sexuality, although he denied to officers that he was gay.
The evil killer emigrated to Ireland from Iraq when he was six years old.
Relatives meeting
His family settled in Sligo, where his father ran his own business. It emerged last month that he had met with his relatives at Mountjoy after they had previously disowned him. Palani has made no move to appeal the life sentence he was given last October.
