Australian insestiperhe
Re: Australian insestiperhe
Ilmeisesti ovat ajatelleet, että incest is wincest. No ei vaan.
Asuivatko he farmilla?
Ei ole syyttömiä. On vain huonosti kuulusteltuja.

Re: Australian insestiperhe

"In July last year, locals in a quiet valley in south-western NSW were startled to see three police four-wheel drives, a police bus and an ambulance bouncing up an old stock route towards a remote timbered block, tucked away from the road.
The day they arrived it looked like the circus had come to town.
Police and child protection officers left with 12 children under the age of 16 in what is shaping as one of the most serious child abuse cases in Australia.
The children were malnourished, filthy, could barely talk, had appalling hygiene and had been living without electricity and running water. What emerged is a truly horrific case of child sex abuse and intergenerational incest. As the royal commission on child abuse within institutions gets under way, the events at this farm highlight what many say is a far more serious threat to children: sexual abuse within the family.
It also raises serious questions about how, Australia-wide, authorities failed three generations of victims, many of whom have now turned into perpetrators.
In September this year, the NSW Children's Court decided to permanently remove the children and in a rare move, published its decision because it laid new ground on when children could be permanently removed. In Victoria, there was another order two months ago to remove children from another branch of the family.
Apprehended violence orders have been taken out to stop the parents approaching the children, who have been placed in homes and in foster care. Next week one mother will face charges relating to an attempt to remove a child from care.
All names in this article have been changed due to legal requirements not to identify child victims.
.....
Just a short drive from Canberra is a small town in prime merino country. The wide main street and substantial buildings point to an era when Australia rode on the sheep's back. There are still big properties, but up in the valleys that stretch out from the town are smaller farms, used increasingly as hobby farms or boltholes for those on the fringes of society. The Colt family were in the second category. There is no suggestion they were part of a religious cult. They seemed motivated by a desire to keep below the radar of the law.
Two sisters paid a relatively modest sum for the land from a local farmer in 2009 and soon the rest of the family followed from interstate. ''The day they arrived it looked like the circus had come to town,'' says a neighbour. ''Caravans, cars filled with kids. ''
Soon after the Colts arrived they came to the attention of police and the education department for failing to send their children to school. The education authorities were unable to find the farm because it was so hidden, but a local policeman visited early on and told the mothers they had to send their children to school.
The younger ones were enrolled in a small bush school with remedial teachers, while the older children were enrolled at the high school.
Neighbours realised there was a large group living on the land, but the Colts kept to themselves and returned stock that strayed onto their property.
''Apart from the noise of the chainsaws, they didn't really worry us,'' a neighbour says. ''I knew there were children living up there, but I never heard any noise of laughing or playing.'' The family were seen in town shopping and two of the men worked for the local shire. The men also chopped down trees and sold it for firewood. The family also received money from Centrelink.
But all was not well. The children's attendance at school was patchy, several of them were rake thin and wore dirty clothes. Soon risk-of-harm reports began coming in to the Department of Family and Community Services from teachers and the local bus driver.
But it took two years before the department acted. Finally, in June 2012, the authorities visited and were met with scenes of harrowing deprivation. One police officer told colleagues she would never get over what she saw that day.
Proceedings before the Children's Court heard the family was living without permanent electricity or running water. There were no toilets and they washed in a tub. One caravan housing one group had dirt, cigarette butts and rubbish on the floor. Three children's beds were dirty and unmade, cooking facilities were very dirty and a gas barbecue was used for heating inside the confined space.
The second caravan had dirt on all surfaces and two broken windows.
A third mother slept in a tent with her daughters, while the sons slept in another. There were exposed electricity wires, chainsaws without covers, and piles of rubbish, the reports said.
The children were observed to be neglected in significant ways. Most were far behind their peers in terms of educational development and some had no formal schooling at all. Some were developmentally delayed and others showed signs of more permanent intellectual impairment.
Several of the children were unable to speak intelligibly. Their dental health was appalling and several did not know how to use a toothbrush.
The family were given a timeframe to fix up the property, but in the meantime more information emerged and the director-general of FACS decided the children needed to be removed immediately.
Since taking the children away, the authorities have uncovered an even darker picture: of intergenerational incest and child sex abuse involving children as young as five.
Away from their families, the children began exhibiting inappropriate sexual behaviour and told carers they had engaged in sexual acts with each other and watched adults having sex on the farm.
The department ordered genetic testing to clarify the status of the children. The tests showed that all but one child of the 12 removed had parents who were related or closely related.
The four mothers, Rhonda, Betty, Martha and Raylene, have disputed the genetic testing, saying it is wrong and offering the names of alternate fathers. All were either dead or unable to be located.
Older members of the family have not been tested but the judge in the Children's Court made several references to ''intergenerational incest''.
According to the court record, the Colt grandparents, Tim and June married in New Zealand in 1966 and came first to South Australia during the 1970s with their six children. They moved to Victoria, South Australia again, then Western Australia, before ending up in NSW. There is evidence the abuse began back then and possibly even earlier.
Dwayne, one of Betty's sons, told his carers he and his siblings were told never to tell anyone that their father was in fact his grandfather, Tim, because his mother, Betty, would be sent to jail because she had started having sex with him when she was 12.
Betty has had 13 children. The testing of the five children under 16 showed that the 15 year old had closely related parents, possibly a father/daughter, while the other four had related parents.
But the incest has not stopped at one generation.
Tammy, Betty's third child, aged 27, has come to the attention of authorities in Victoria after one of her children died at Canberra Hospital of a rare genetic disease, Zellweger syndrome, and she and Betty failed to attend an appointment to discuss the role close consanguinity between parents can play.
Her two remaining children were taken into care in February this year. At a hearing to take out an apprehended violence order against her partner, Derek Colt - who had threatened ''to kill her if he couldn't have her'' - she told a social worker Derek was in fact her younger brother and father of her children.
She also revealed she had been abused within the Colt family from the age of 12 when other family members began having sex with her, including her brothers and cousins. She said the same happened to other girls on the farm and that her mother, Betty encouraged this activity.
When the girls fell pregnant, they were not permitted to see a doctor in case someone discovered what was happening. Sometimes there were miscarriages but Tammy managed to secretly put herself on the pill from the age of 16.
The big question to be answered is how these children - and their mothers before them - managed to fall through the child protection net in a civilised country such as Australia.
Part of the problem is that child protection is a state-based responsibility. When the Colts came to the attention of authorities the family simply snatched the kids and moved states, choosing isolated places to resettle.
But against that background there is evidence the Colts were registered for federal benefits, raising questions about how state authorities were unable to follow up on these vulnerable children.
In the case of the NSW authorities, the Department of Community Services received seven risk-of-significant-harm reports in the two years before July 2012 when the children were removed. Asked why it had failed to act, the department refused to provide any detailed response as the matter is ongoing.
''The children are safe and living with foster carers,'' the department said. ''Like many child-protection matters, this case involves a number of complexities and Community Services caseworkers are working closely with FACS' partners in Health, Education and in the non-government sector to provide ongoing support and assistance to the children.''
The mothers have contested their children's removal in the courts and continue to agitate for their return.
But the Children's Court judge found they had not come to terms with ''their own traumatic past'' and until they acknowledged the history of incest in the family they would be unable to engage in therapy and be protective parents".

"THE COLT FAMILY lived undisturbed on their farm in New South Wales until June 2012 when social workers and police made their first visit.
The checkup was warranted because of reports that there were children living ‘in the hills’ who did not attend school.
What emerged was a depraved case of the most extreme child neglect, abuse and intergenerational incest any of the officials had ever seen. Some have not been able to get over what they had to document.
There were 12 children – all in unwashed states with varying degrees of intellectual disabilities, physical deformities, malnutrition and dental emergencies – living on the property.
Some of the youngsters and teenagers were unable to use a toothbrush, wash their hair, use toilet paper or bathe themselves.
The family of about 40 people existed in two caravans, two sheds and two tents. The caravans were described as “very dirty” and in a “hazardous state”. There was mud, dirt, cigarette butts and rubbish on the floors. The children’s beds were dirty and unmade; cooking facilities were dirty and unsafe and window were broken.
The fridge in the large shed contained rotten vegetables and a young kangaroo was asleep in one of the children’s beds.
Caseworkers observed the children and reported that they wore dirty clothing, were shy and unable to make eye contact.
Their speech was difficult to understand and they appeared to have very poor dental health and hygiene.
The horrific details have emerged this week after the New South Wales Children’s Court took the unusual decision to publish its judgement with the name of the family changed.
Community Services removed the 12 children from the settlement on 18 July 2012. In July, the Court said that they would not be returned to their parents under any circumstances because such a move would pose too much of a risk.
The children
Just one of the 12 children removed from the farm was found to have parents that were not related.
The Colt family’s dark history starts with brother and sister, Timothy and June Colt, who were married in New Zealand in 1966 and had seven children – Rhonda, Betty, Cherry, Frank, Charlie, Paula and Martha.
The family moved to Australia and lived in various properties. They were thought to relocate each time authorities would ask questions or get to close.
Rhonda, Betty and Martha were all mothers involved in the Boorawa neglect case.
Rhonda has six children, the youngest being Cindy who is five years old and is now in the care of the State. Her father is not related to the Colts, genetic testing showed.
Betty has 13 children, five of whom are now in protection. Bobby (15), Bill (14), Brian (12), Dwayne (9) and Carmen (8) were all removed during the 18 July 2012 visit. Their fathers are all related to Betty.
Betty’s daughter Raylene, who is now 30 years old, was the fourth mother involved in this year’s legal proceedings. Her only child, Kimberly, is 13 and was also removed from the Boorawa farm.
Martha has had six children but Donna died when she was just two weeks old. The surviving five are aged between seven and 15. They were all removed by social services. Albert, Jed, Karl, Ruth and Nadia’s parents were all related, genetic testing showed.
According to the evidence heard in court, all 12 children were “neglected in significant ways”.
Most of them were discovered to be far behind age peers in terms of educational development and were functioning well below their chronological age.
Albert, Jed, Kimberly, Karl, Ruth, Carmen and Nadia have particular problems with speaking intelligibly.
There were other physical problems noted, including fungal infections in feet and bed-wetting and soiling.
A number of the Colt children were reported to having hearing and vision impairments, as well as cognitive difficulties.
The world primitive was used by the court on occasion.
Cindy, the only child not born of a incestuous relationship, was described as a “well-spoken polite, bright, intelligent girl whose development was normal for her age”. Her health and hygiene were observed to be good and her clothes clean. Her mother had taken her to hospital in June 2012 to be treated for her ear infection.
Sexualised behaviour
The court judgement on the children’s experiences of sex abuse makes for extremely disturbing reading.
Evidence submitted revealed how the Colt children made concerning disclosures to psychologists during sessions and, they themselves, exhibited sexualised behaviour.
Kimberley revealed that she had “sucked Dwayne” while Carmen watched. Her mother knew about it, she said.
Other disclosures outlined in the court included incidences some of the brothers and uncles having sex with the girls, touching their breasts, licking their vaginas and placing sticks in their anuses.
There were incidences of the girls being tied up to trees by the boys and other times when they watched other members of their family have sex with each other.
Placement reports from carers indicated that Cindy, who is just five years old, was found masturbating on a toilet and in the shower. She said Dwayne (9) showed her how to do that.
She also tried to kiss the male carer on the lips and was defiant when told this was inappropriate.
Five of the boys also told their carers about how they used to torture animals on the farm, including puppies and cats. They reported mutilating the genitals of animals.
Separately, Ruth told a psychologist that she lived with “two mums and two dads” but her “number one mum died because she was sick”.
Tammy Colt’s Evidence
Some of the most harrowing evidence was given by Betty’s second daughter, Tammy, who revealed what had happened to her as she grew up.
She told her Victorian caseworker that she had been in a relationship with her younger brother Derek for three years and that he had fathered her three children – one of whom died from a “universally lethal” condition, Zellweger Syndrome. She says she did not know they were related until recently.
He has since threatened to kill her if “he couldn’t have her”.
Tammy disclosed that she had been abused within the Colt family from the age of 12, when other family members began having sex with her, including Colin, Timothy, Derek and Matthew.
She said that the same happened to her sisters, Raylene, Tracy, Jane and Penny.
Her mother encouraged this activity. Tammy used to hide from her brothers when she could so they couldn’t have sex with her, and she secretly went on the pill at age 16, without her mother’s knowledge.
She and her sisters were not allowed to see a doctor when pregnant in case someone found out what was happening.
The now-27-year-old says she is aware of a number of miscarriages on the Boorowa farm.
The judge’s ruling
Judge Peter Johnstone said the jigsaw pieces given to him created a “very clear picture” of life on the farm. He accepted the genetic evidence, as well as Tammy Colt’s submission, stating it had probative value, and that the Children’s Court works differently to other courts in terms of strict proof and best evidence.
He repeated a note from the caseworker which said Tammy’s outpourings at the courthouse were “spontaneous and voluntary”. He said he took into account the general, inconsistent and contradictory nature of her account but made allowances for her own emotional and psychological deficiencies.
“Overall, however, she presented connected and credible threads that assist in completing the full picture of the Colt family and life on the farm”, he said.
Judge Johnstone ruled that Betty Colt – who had disputed the court’s findings – is not willing to disentangle herself from her family and is incapable of addressing her own traumatic history.
He said there is no pathway for the restoration of the children to the care of their mothers and agreed they would be wards of the State until they are 18 years old.
All 12 are currently in foster care or other placements. They have some contact with each other and their parents".
Paljonhan näissä on toistoa, mutta aina jotain uusia detaljeja kuitenkin.

Kuitenkin tästä linkistäKaizer Sose kirjoitti:Perhehän on viettänyt niinkuin entistä ns saaristolais elämää tuolla kengurumaassa;) Ongs kuvii perheestä?
Voisiko joku kopioida noiden artikkelien kuvat tänne? Itse en osaa, mutta olisi hyvä saada se sukupuu samaten kuin nämä harvat muut aiheeseen liittyvät kuvat tänne, siltä varalta että artikkelit kuvineen poistuvat netistä joku päivä.

Re: Australian insestiperhe

Moni leikki on kuitenkin aikuiselämän kopiointia.

Re: Australian insestiperhe
Arlene kirjoitti:

Samanlaista mentaliteetti esiintyy muissakin eristyneissä yhteisöissä, esim. kulttien keskuudess, vaikka kysymys ei olisikaan juuri insestistä vaan jostain muusta ajatus- tai toimintamallista.

Re: Australian insestiperhe
